Our Own Art scheme, which supports new buyers and collectors of contemporary art and craft, unveiled its new brand and website at London Art Fair 2019.
This year Own Art is celebrating its 15th year! The scheme was originally launched by Arts Council England in 2004. Since then, over 50,000 customers across the UK have used Own Art’s interest-free loan scheme to help finance the purchase of contemporary art and craft. Own Art is now the UK’s largest membership body for contemporary art and craft, helping to support the sector to develop and grow.
The Own Art brand identity was due for a refresh as part of this milestone. The new look and feel aims to reflect the personality of the scheme and to strengthen its core mission of making contemporary art and craft accessible to everyone.
The new brand identity, designed by London-based Spy Studio, retains Own Art’s trademark pink and echoes the iconic form of the red ‘sold’ dot and comprises a clear graphic language. The bold typographic marque is inspired by transporting and moving art.
The accompanying new website has been developed by Brighton-based web agency Wolfcub Digital. It has been designed to connect galleries, collectors and artists using a clear and informative structure and compelling editorial content. Own Art member galleries are now able to create content, directly promoting their own programmes to new potential buyers. This new digital platform will help facilitate anyone starting out as a collector or interested in discovering exhibitions and artists in their local area.
